Oh no! I Pavlov-ed Myself!

I am one of those people who require lots of sleep. I would be content to spend my weekends in my pajamas, sleeping late & reading between naps & actually quite often that's exactly what I do. Due to my excessive need for sleep, or possibly just plain laziness, I frequently go out to my car during my lunch break at work to take a nap. It's really quite cozy. I have an SUV, so it's roomy. My windows are tinted black, (probably illegally dark) & I put up my sunshade in the front windshield so it's nice & dark. For the final touch I usually put in the Coldplay, Parachutes cd to block out any distracting noises. It takes me no time at all to nod off, as soon as I tilt my seat back, I'm out. Anne, my at-work mom, calls me on my cel phone when my break is over and it's time to wake up. It's a system that works well for me.

When I left work on Tuesday, I decided to leave the Coldplay cd in & listen to it. Since I usually sleep through it, it had been a while since I actually heard it. I had not even gotten through one song before I started yawning & even started to nod off at a traffic light. I have unwittingly conditioned myself to sleep whenever I hear Coldplay. I wonder if I could apply this technique to Maggie...
